Fulton County Board of Commissioners’ Chairman John H. Eaves founded the Fulton County Global Youth Leadership Exchange Program in 2007 for the purpose of helping develop the leadership skills of youth through International Travel.
In July 2008, Chairman Eaves led a group of students on a trip to South Africa. A few months later, Fulton County hosted a group of students visiting from South Africa.
In July 2009, the program will lead its second group abroad – to visit Germany. It is hoped that a group of German students will also be able to visit Fulton County in the near future.
The program operates in partnership with the Georgia Center for International Visitors and the financial support of sponsors. Fulton County’s involvement is managed through the Office of Children & Youth in the Human Services Department, as well as in the Chairman’s office.
